Well with the garage now up and fitted out with light and power I can actually do some work on my Lotus Elan Plus 2 which needs rewiring. Here's a shot of the garage with the Plus 2 safely ensconced and covered with some of the interior which I had to strip out to do the wiring:
And this is an interior shot showing the Plus 2 and my benches and storage cabinets I've set up to give me a nice working environment! Now all I have to do is keep it tidy and clean!
So today I set too stripping out the first of the three looms - the Plus 2 has separate engine bay, cabin and rear looms. It's not an easy job, and involves a certain amount of spannering to get the old loom out - I had to take off the air box, grille and coil bracket and also loosen off the radiator to finally pull the old loom out.
Here a couple of pictures; engine bay without the loom::
and the old loom out and ready to be recycled:
That was enough for the day as the dog was agitating for her afternoon walk. Tomorrow (or the next day) I'll be labelling up the new engine bay loom, and placing it in situ loosely, then its the big job - stripping out the dash loom.
