Spring is Sprung!

Well, it's the end of March, lockdown in the England is being eased and it looks like spring is finally here. My gentle Lengthsman trundle down the canal this morning was enlivened by the appearance of the Kingfisher which lives along my length . First spotted him sitting in a tree on the towpath side, peering intently into the water, then had that magic flash of electric blue as he flew off and over to the other bank. What with the sunshine, a very happy hound and signs of spring springing up all over the place the world seems to be a better place now!

Here is the kingfisher sitting the tree:

And here is a happy Poppy, investigating the slowly warming canal water in the spring sunshine:

Whats more my new garage should be going up tomorrow which will give my Plus 2 a bit mot comfort - and me as well while I set about restarting the stalled rewire!

He's my Plus 2 tucked up out of the way while the garage goes up:

Note the headlanps - engine vacuum keeps them down against springs on later cars, and this one has this failsafe system retro-fitted. On early cars the vacuum was used to keep the headlamps up - so if there was a vacuum leak or a vacuum pipe failed the lights would stay down - not so good at night!
